Jewels for a Dream Sequence: Styled by Bhuvi Kalra
Some collaborations don’t just work — they sing.
Stylist Bhuvi Kalra is one of those rare creatives whose craft is matched by her grace. Working with her has always felt intuitive, respectful, and quietly magical. Whether it’s a runway show or a lookbook shoot, she brings out the deepest essence of both the clothing and the jewellery — elevating both in unanticipated ways.
Some of her most memorable pairings has been for Geisha Designs, a label known for its fluid, feminine gowns and global glamour. Their pieces are rich in detail but always wearable — the kind of silhouettes that flow like a story.
A Royal Setting for Florals
Bhuvi chose my floral tiaras and hairbands for Geisha’s runway looks — crowns nestled into sculpted braids or loose curls. Against their opulent drapes, these floral forms took on an entirely new life. They looked softer, but somehow also more powerful — like modern heirlooms worn in a dream.
Statement Pieces with a Silken Whisper
The styling didn’t stop at the headpieces. Bhuvi also brought in some of my statement danglers, cocktail rings, and sculptural bangles — pairing them with sleek gowns in godlike golds, ruby reds, and dusty pink. There was never too much. Just enough to make the jewellery gleam without taking over.
The Figmenterie x Geisha Mood
Together, Bhuvi’s styling and Geisha’s ensembles gave my pieces a kind of new belonging. They didn’t feel like accessories — they felt like part of the story. Royal but wearable, dreamy but rooted in craft. The whole mood reminded me why I started Figmenterie in the first place: to make figments of imagination feel real.
