Style Series #1 Spardha Malik

Easy Glamour: Figmenterie styled by Spardha Malik for Citara

Some collaborations leave behind more than great images—they shift something in how you see your own work.

Stylist Spardha Malik, assisted by Kejhal Kalra, styled Figmenterie pieces for Citara’s summer campaign. The mood was easy-breezy, sophisticated, and full of warmth—the kind of visual rhythm that invites you to pause.

Watching the jewellery come alive on set, against Citara’s effortless silhouettes, was a quiet revelation. Pieces I’d sculpted in a studio, with a certain vision, found new breath through fabric, posture, and movement.

Ivory on Ivory

Spardha paired our Untamed Chandelier Pearl earrings with a sequinned ivory slip dress and yet again with a glamorous sequin black and white dress. The looks were soft, light, and quietly luxurious. I’d always imagined these earrings for evening drama—but here, they whispered delicate grace. They shimmered beside sunlight on skin and threadwork, their elegance casual and unforced.

And then came the silver reef bangles and stacker ring — styled with the same ease and elegance. bringing together sculptural forms and soft movement. I hadn’t imagined this combination myself, but there it was — quietly assertive, striking without being loud. Seeing them styled this way made me rethink what "statement" really means. Sometimes, it’s in the way something doesn’t try too hard.

A Hint of Drama

The Silver Pearl Cup studs found a home in a different mood: a flowy ivory set swaying in the summer breeze. Simple, grounded, and with just enough edge. I loved how these understated studs—usually a comfort staple—suddenly felt like punctuation. Necessary. Intuitive.

Styling turned them into quiet protagonists.

Another unexpected delight was seeing the Comet Studs paired with a minimal and radiant white pantset. The textured arcs of metal, inspired by celestial trails, echoed the soft luminosity of the ivory fabric they were styled with — subtle yet striking. I'd always imagined them as quiet conversation pieces, but here, in motion, they gleamed with a gentle assertiveness. It made me realise how much a stylist's perspective can reframe the mood of a piece — from solitary shimmer to ensemble harmony.

There’s a kind of magic when the right clothes, the right light, and the right eye meet a piece of jewellery. This shoot reminded me that while I design with an internal compass, meaning is always shaped in context—on a body, in a mood, with a story.

I’m grateful for collaborators who show me new ways to see my own work.
